| We are here to stay. Meade Canine Rescue Foundation was established by one woman in May 2009 when she dropped by a Connecticut dog pound, fell in love with 4 dogs, went back the next day for them and they were DEAD. Beautiful blue sky day just before Memorial day Weekend and the pound staff didn't want to have to clean cages that holiday. The weekend was ruined and the passion began.
Now in Connecticut and California, MCRF pulls death row pound dogs for adoption and hospice. Because of the sheer numbers in serious danger adopters are always needed. On our 12 acre ranch we consider owner surrender seniors & welcome shelter dogs who have limited time - dogs being killed for no good reasons. California is our sanctuary for dogs with limitations as well as younger dogs lucky enough to make it here while they look for new homes. Funding is through donations and adoption and surrender fees and all monies go directly to care of the dogs. The board and management is volunteer and self supporting. We welcome four legged and two legged visitors 365 days a year.  | |

Donations: Dog food, blankets, detergent, bleach, dog treats, gas cards and monetary support are all appreciated. Donations can be made by PayPal or sent via mail. (See mailing address and donation button on the top right hand side of this page.) Individuals will to help: Volunteering - We would appreciate any help that you can provide at our location in Creston CA. We need help with attending adoption events as well spending time with the animals we have in our care. Our dogs love to be walked around our large property and you can experience the wonderful views. Fostering – Take a dog home for a week or weekend. This gives you the ability to enjoy a pet without having to make commitment. Seniors for seniors – Older dogs make wonderful companions for seniors. Sponsoring a Hospice Dog – Go to pet finder and choose the pet you want to sponsor. You can make a monthly donation in any amount to your pet’s care. You will be provided regular updates. Payment can be made via PayPal or Check. Please designate your sponsored pets name when making any donations. Adoptions are the most critical part of our rescue. By adopting one dog you save the lives of two. Due to limited room the adoption of a dog enables us to save another dog slated to be euthanized.
