We are here to stay. Meade Canine Rescue Foundation was established by one woman in May 2009 when she dropped by a Connecticut dog pound, fell in love with 4 dogs, went back the next day for them and they were DEAD. Beautiful blue sky day just before Memorial day Weekend and the pound staff didn't want to have to clean cages that holiday. The weekend was ruined and the passion began.

Now in Connecticut and California, MCRF pulls death row pound dogs for adoption and hospice. Because of the sheer numbers in serious danger adopters are always needed.

On our 12 acre ranch we consider owner surrender seniors & welcome shelter dogs who have limited time - dogs being killed for no good reasons. California is our sanctuary for dogs with limitations as well as younger dogs lucky enough to make it here while they look for new homes.

Funding is through donations and adoption and surrender fees and all monies go directly to care of the dogs. The board and management is volunteer and self supporting.

We welcome four legged and two legged visitors 365 days a year.
